Vietnam’s furniture and wood products have been present in 120 countries and territories. For furniture, wood accounts for more than 90%, the rest is bamboo, rattan and synthetic wicker furniture. There are about 4000 Vietnamese furniture and wood processing factories in Vietnam, employing approximately 300.000 workers. The Vietnam furniture and wood industry is definitely export-led with 80% of total production being sold abroad. In 2015, Vietnam exported $7 billion worth of furniture and wood products, turning Vietnam into the 5th biggest furniture exporter in the world after China, Germany, Italy and Poland.
