Vietnam has a long tradition in craft making with 2,790 craft villages and millions of labors working in. A comprehensive range of art and craft products: wood carvings; lacquer, bamboo; rattan, rush and leaves; ceramics; silk and crafted textiles, embroidery and lace; weaving; metal arts; handmade paper; stonework; horns, glass; and fine art has been popular throughout the world for their unique cultural characteristics, diversified designs and good quality. The craft sector’s export now reaches US$1.6 billion a year, in which rattan accounts for 33%, ceramic 30% and weaving sector 17%, household and mosaic wood crafts 8% and other 12%. EU, US and Japan are three leading importers among hundred countries importing Vietnamese crafts.
