Vietnam's apparel and textile industry has witnessed impressive growth in recent years (15-20% annually), which makes the country become the world’s fifth largest apparel exporter. The products have been exported to more than 180 countries and territories. More than 4.000 enterprises registered in the industry have generated 4.5 million jobs. Vietnam is considered a good sourcing option for knitted wears, underwear, jeans, coats and jackets, skirts, pants and suits, and some fabrics. About 85 percent of Vietnamese enterprises in the industry are focused on labor-intensive cutting and sewing, making the country an outsourcing hub for foreign fashion companies. Investment in fiber, yarn and textile manufacturing is rising, particularly for spinning and weaving. Many textile and garment companies in the region have already begun to move production to Vietnam.
